This evening you are attending career night and are asked to consider the unique jobs that the people before you do every day.

The only career path each of us can choose that will lead to real lasting success is to be a lifelong learner. It is said that there really isn't anything new under the sun. What is new is the unique understanding each of us bring to every task large or small.
The origin of the word as shown above is as a carrier or vehicle to transport something. Our choices in life can transport us to a place of happiness and success or misery and failure. By learning about the world around you and how to interact with it you can build on previous peoples successes or failures. We all make choices everyday. By choosing to understanding and interact with the world we choose to conciously have an effect upon it. By choosing to not interact with the world in a positive way we by default choose to be part of the problem.
Our careers therefore are not destinations, but are vehicles by which we can travel through life and carry with us all we have learned (and not learned). For you can continue to either make the same mistakes or build new understandings of how to do something better.
Now more than ever we face a world that needs your input into how to be more efficient and engaged in solving the problems facing us. This is the change we need to be. Let us journey forth on this process of discovery together. Join the learning team!
